Is a humidifier safe in a baby's room?
Cool-mist humidifiers are the type recommended for children — no hot water or steam. Place it on a firm surface out of reach and away from the cot, empty and rinse the tank daily, and use clean water. Aim for around 40–60% room humidity.
Do I need both a humidifier and an air purifier?
They solve different problems. A humidifier adds moisture to dry air; a purifier removes dust, pollen and dander from it. Dry cough or blocked nose → humidifier. Dust, pets or allergies → purifier. Many nurseries eventually run both.
Is white noise safe for babies?
Widely used and generally considered safe at a moderate volume, placed away from the cot rather than beside the baby’s head. It should sit in the background, masking sudden noises rather than dominating the room.
My room feels damp — should I still use a humidifier?
